Kwanzaa Celebration Symbols

Kwanzaa is a popular seven-day African-American festival that is held from December 26 to January 1 of each year. The main goal of this week is to develop, support, and preserve African traditions that have come to America. The main symbols of the Kwanzaa holiday are the drum and seven candles in the Kinara candlestick. The drumming traditionally means the beginning of Kwanzaa, and the seven Kinara candles represent the seven principles of African tradition.
