Unown is a group of Pokémon that resemble letters of the alphabet. They are all Psychic-type, and they are known for their mysterious origins. Unown was first introduced in the Generation II games, Pokémon Gold and Silver. They can be found in the Ruins of Alph, a hidden area in the Johto region. The Ruins of Alph are filled with Unown hieroglyphs, which are thought to be messages from the Pokémon themselves.
