White seals get their name from the harp-shaped pattern on their back, made of dark, black-grey fur on a lighter background. They migrate seasonally, spending their summers in the Arctic and then moving southward in the winter months to hunt in areas with open water. White seals feed on fish and other marine animals, including squid and crustaceans.
